St. Agnes is a Jesuit, Catholic parish founded in 1893 and located in the historic Haight-Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco. St. Agnes is known for prayerful liturgies, well-prepared homilies and gracious hospitality. The church is an inclusive, urban community, rich in diversity of age, ethnicity, gender, orientation, culture and talent.

The parish has a number of ministries including a Food Pantry, a Hospitality & Welcoming Committee and a Gay & Lesbian Ministry, which provides a safe environment that promotes full membership in the church through education and understanding of church teachings, mutual support and conversation.

St. Agnes also operates the Ignatian Spiritual Life Center (SLC), a place of welcome for those seeking spiritual growth and development. Grounded in the Catholic tradition and energized by Ignatian spirituality, it offers adult education and faith formation; the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius; spiritual direction; opportunities for prayer, retreat and service; and a place for the community to gather.

The SLC houses a lending library, bookstore, chapel, full kitchen, dining area and garden, and it is open for drop-in visits. Young adults are invited to participate in the center's many educational, service, social, spiritual and faith formation programs.
