For almost 50 years, the Ignatius House Retreat Center has been open to individuals of all faiths seeking a closer relationship with God. Located 18 miles north of downtown Atlanta and overlooking the Chattahoochee River, the retreat house is surrounded by over 20 acres of trees and hills.
The expansive grounds are filled with indigenous trees, plants and wildlife. Multiple decks overlook the river and a natural waterfall, and walking trails, gazebos and benches provide quiet places for meditation, introspection and prayer. An outdoor chapel on a hilltop features a beautiful stained glass cross and the center’s St. Ignatius Chapel has a crucifix sculpture and majestic views of the Chattahoochee River.
Ignatius House serves as a location for individual and group retreats, which consist of silent reflection, contemplation and prayer. Retreats and programs offered include two- and three-day weekend retreats; five- and eight-day individually directed retreats during the summer; and many retreats geared toward specific audiences, including for men, women, couples and those in recovery.
In addition to providing silent retreats, Ignatius House has established itself as the perfect location for weekday meetings, workshops, conferences and events. The facilities and grounds are available throughout the week for nonprofit organizations to rent for day, evening or overnight meetings and events. The center also features a book shop on site.
