Associates

There are three dimensions of Jesuit cooperation with others in mission: (1) lay collaboration in Jesuit apostolic works, (2) the cooperation of Jesuits in the works of others, and (3) the support of and contribution to lay apostolic associations related to the Society and its mission.

The Society of Jesus actively promotes several different associations for the Christian formation of lay persons in Ignatian spirituality and for partnership in a common mission.

Christian Life Communities

These communities address people who, being formed in the Spiritual Exercises, hear a call to follow Jesus Christ more closely and to make a life commitment to work with others through apostolic witness and service.

Italian Federation of Alumni of Jesuit Schools

Jesuit Alumni in Arizona (JAAZ) is a group of alumni of Jesuit high schools and colleges now living in Arizona. It currently numbers around 800 members. They try to do something every month to promote things "that help them have life and have it more abundantly." JAAZ has an annual dinner on the Feast of St. Ignatius, July 31. To get on the JAAZ mailing list, send your name, addresses (including e-mail address) and phone and FAX numbers to: JAAZ, P.O. Box 33698, Phoenix, AZ 85067. Apostleship of Prayer

Through the Apostleship of Prayer, Each and everyone of us is being encouraged to take part in spreading the Gospel message by urging a few friends to join in praying, everyday, the Gospel of Our Lord.

The Apostleship of Prayer seeks to form Christians shaped by the Eucharist, devoted to the Heart of Christ through the daily offering and prayer for the intentions of the Church, and committed to apostolic service. Fr. James M. Kubicki SJ is the national director in the U.S. The offices are located at 3211 S. Lake Dr., Milwaukee, WI 53235; Telephone 414-486-1152 Fax 414-486-1159; Email aposprayer@aol.com

The Australian Jesuits have a Web page devoted to the Apostleship of Prayer. It gives the current suggested prayer intentions as well as some other material about the Jesuits in Australia.

Other Groups

A number of individuals who are no longer Jesuits, but still value the spirit and traditions of the Society of Jesus and wish to continue to live in that tradition which had a significant impact on their lives have a web site known as Companions. The current group is located predominantly on the West Coast of the US, but they have suggestions for former Jesuits from other areas.
